By Matthew Smith

With finances slim and the oil executives pocketing all you have, its no wonder that more people are looking at alternative forms of transportation. The trend points to electric scooters. With so many types to choose from, how do you select a cheap electric scooter?

Electric scooter manufacturers are always making changes and have thus far been able to keep up with the increasing demands of their consumers. Normally, with so many changes, you would see higher prices. However, with innovative design and manufacturing facilities, the manufacturers that plan to stick around for the long term have made getting a cheap electric scooter a reality.

Since a cheap electric scooter is so affordable, just about everyone can afford to jump on board and own their own for under three-hundred dollars.

Even the cheap electric scooters are packed full of technological advancements. Most electric scooters in this range are built to collapse so that they are portable anywhere and you can store them with minimal effort with minimal space required.

Several models include such safety devices such as headlights for night safety, brake lights so that you dont get run over from behind and left and right turn signals so that everyone will know when and which way you plan on turning

How about a combo scooter? Whats that? A conversion scooter is a scooter that has a removable seat and can be utilized as either a stand up scooter or you can leave the seat on and ride it as a sit down scooter. There are several different types of cheap electric scooters. No matter how tall, short, heavy, light, young or old your are, there is a cheap electric scooter thats perfect

If you want to go fast, dont worry. The best manufacturers have taken care of you there as well. Todays scooters can reach speeds in excess of twenty-five to thirty miles per hour, depending on the weight that it is carrying and the type of road or how steep the hill is that it has to navigate.

Basically, when you find a cheap electric scooter, depending on the supplier, the word CHEAP only refers to price.

This issue doesn't come up very often. However, at high altitudes (above 4000 ft), your scooter will start starving for air. You'll need to place a smaller main jet in the carb, so that it will take in less fuel. A good rule of thumb is to reduce the size of the main jet by 10% and see if that works.

Run at least a pint of gas through to help flush the system. If you don't get a flow then it's likely your petcock is clogged. You have to remove it before you can disassemble and clean it. Carefully reinstall it on the gas tank or you could get a gas leak. Reassemble everything and try to start the scooter. It will take several seconds of cranking to get the gas to work its way from the gas tank to the carburetor.

I got a Yamaha YP125R Majesty and so far I have covered 8,000 miles. Most importantly is RELIABILITY. So far, this is excellent. After one year, it has never let me down or broken down. Only once did it not start first time, but did second time. Because of dampness, the rectifier needed replacement under warranty (which would have cost 50).
